Dental bridges are an effective way to replace missing teeth. They usually consist of one or more false teeth (pontics) fitted with a crown at either end. These end crowns are then securely fitted on to teeth adjacent to the space left by the missing tooth, allowing the pontics to sit comfortably on top of the gum line in between.

During these years they have developed many skills in terms of patient care and clinical practice, taking professional care and personal pride in delivering every procedure they perform.
Your dentist will first examine your teeth at the initial appointment to assess if a crown or bridge is suitable. The procedure itself is usually split over two visits to the practice. The preparatory work is undertaken at the first appointment and impressions are taken of your teeth.
These are then sent on to a special laboratory where the new device will be created. Once this has been delivered back to the practice a second appointment is arranged for it to be securely fitted into position. The process is completed with a clean and polish for the final result.
Crowns and bridges are very strong and can last for many years. They are typically made from durable porcelain and are kept firmly in place by a strong adhesive.
The longevity of crowns and bridges can be maximised by a good, daily oral hygiene routine. Teeth should be brushed twice a day using a fluoride toothpaste, as well as flossed at least once a day. After treatment, we strongly advise regular visits to the practice for checking and professional from the hygienist.
