Most people with yellowed or stained teeth are suitable for whitening, though your teeth do need to be in otherwise good condition. Your dentist will initially assess your teeth and advise on the most appropriate options available to you.
Whitening treatments do not work well on porcelain or most bonding materials. This will need to be considered if you have veneers, dentures, crowns or have bonded repairs such as tooth coloured fillings.
Zoom! Whitening is carried out in the practice. Your dentist will first apply a Hydrogen Peroxide gel to your teeth before accelerating its whitening properties under an overhead UV light in 15 minute bursts.
The treatment can additionally be topped up at home using bleaching trays.
The results of Zoom! whitening typically last between 12 and 24 months. Exactly how long the effects last depends on the individual though and, in particular, how well they look after their teeth.
